Yamaha fj 09 ecu flash voiding warranty4/20/2024 There is also a check engine, low oil and a cold engine light indicator which is great - no guessing when the bike is ready to go. It has some great extras on it like MPG gauge, gear indicator, fuel gauge, and various temp gauges. Incredibly easy to see during the day and at night (my ride starts with the sun out and ended in the dark). Lastly, the completely digital display is awesome. The headlight was so much brighter compared to my 04sv and the high beam had great down range coverage. I didnt push the tac much beyond 6k rpm but to be honest shifting at 6k felt about the equivalent of shifting the SV at 10k. The amount of power that engine generates in those modes was noticeably different compared to B mode, but it's nice to have that dialed down version when i got stuck in traffic, the bike was much more manageable. Switching to STD and A modes almost guaranteed wheelie time when pushing it hard. Fueling wasn't overly sensitive but the power was still eons beyond the SV. It has 3 riding modes which i thought would be more of a marketing gimmick than anything but they are very unique.ī mode dials back the HP and torque and i kept the bike in this mode for most of the time. the 115hp triple made me laugh the entire time i was riding. Tight turns are a breeze and while i didnt push any tight corners yet given the weather and riding conditions - i'm excited to really open this thing up in the spring - it took no time to get used to coming from the SV. the bike is 414lbs and you can feel the difference. I thought this would be a slight downfall but the bike ergos we're great for control and not that bad on the highway at 75mph either - i actually found it less of a burden to ride on the highway than the SV. the bike is an absolute blast to ride, compared to the SVn i felt the riding position was more over the tank and the foot position seems to be a bit lower making the overall riding position slightly more upright. I went for about a 40 mile ride to the garage just to see how it felt without completely freezing my arse off. I was originally going to have the bike delivered to my brothers garage but it hit about 38 the other day so i decided to bundle up and ride it home instead. So some of you know i recently traded in the SV for an FZ - i understand this is an SV site so i'll keep this to my last post regarding the FZ - some were interested on my thoughts regarding the first ride so i figured i'd share.
